Why We Certainly Wood & Why You Should Too!
We have been using Certainly Wood’s kiln dried wood for years, and it’s with good reason. We use it around camp, we use it in our camping stove and we use it in our wood burner at home.
Here we introduce Glampsite owners to Certainly Wood and show how to turn a hassle-free profit from the wood they supply.
Who Are Certainly Wood?
Since they were first established in 2006, Certainly Wood has grown to become the largest specialist producer of premier kiln dried firewood in the UK.
The business was set up by brothers George and Nic at the family farm in Hereford.
Certainly Wood is very much about a British family business, built on the values of trust, heritage and premium quality.
All Certainly Wood’s logs are sold in small packs or bulk bags of a known and checked volume so customers know what they are buying every time. This is a vast and welcome move away from selling by weight or by a ‘load’.
What We Love About Certainly Wood
- Known quantities, exacting amounts
- Consistently high quality
- Ready to Burn quality assured
- Made from sustainable British woodland
How Can Certainly Wood Help Glampsite Owners?
If you’re providing fire pits and/or wood burning stoves, it makes absolute sense to provide the wood to burn in them. Some site owners are able to provide this from their own site, whereas others will need to bulk purchase in advance.
Be careful if planning to supply the wood from your own land – if it contains more than 20% moisture it can cause real issues around camp, especially if used in a wood burning stove. Moist wood can very quickly cause a heavy build up of soot or tar in the stove and flue system – this is not something any glampsite owner wishes to transfer on to the canvas or on to the floor.
Certainly Wood will deliver bulk orders of fire-ready, assured, British, kiln dried, hardwood logs to your door with free delivery
Here you can purchase a palletised bulk bag and divide this up into smaller denominations yourself, or purchase their wood palletised and ready-split into smaller 30, 50 or 80 bag denominations. You can expect to achieve a good profit from re-selling Certainly Wood’s wood.
How Much Profit Is In a 90 Bag Pallet?
All prices are correct at the time of writing (May 2023) and excl VAT. Let’s take a look at how much profit the glampsite owner can expect to make from the largest 90 bag denomination.
The 90 bag pallet costs the glampsite owner (trade price) = £523.80
1 bag costs the glampsite owner (£523.80/90) = £5.82
1 bag sells to the Glamper for = £10
90 bags sell to the Glampers for (£10*90) = £900.00
Total profit per pallet (£900-£523.80) = £376.20
It’s a good idea to disallow the burning of any other wood to that which you supply. Glampers will assume this is to protect your profits, and to an extent that is true. However there are additional reasons for doing this which are worth pointing out to your guests…
