3 Ways to Exceed Your Guest’s Expectations & Jumpstart Your Glampsite!

The Glamping Guests Expectations Checklist

The Guest’s Expectations

The Glamping guest’s expectations can easily be met by concentrating on the 3 basic demands that follow.

Believe it or not, your glamping guest is more often someone who isn’t particularly into camping. They’re coming to your site because they don’t wish to own and set-up their own tent, but they do wish to enjoy the experience of staying in one. They could be more used to using hotels and B&Bs, and so this is the benchmark you’re up against, after all you will likely be charging a similar price and so this is the market you are competing with.

Ask yourself why your Glampers would choose your place over a hotel? Annoyingly, people will always compare your glampsite to a hotel without acknowledging the major differences. They could be looking for a new experience, but not at the expense of the creature comforts they’re used to. Just like hotel and B&B guests, your guests will have high priorities on their list:

1. Cleanliness

The tents and the equipment you supply will need to be pristine. Your guests will expect both to feel new and fresh. Allow plenty of time for a change over between guests. Clean the b-b-q, fully launder all linen (including cushion covers), sweep out the tents and consider replacing items that become tired and worn.

2. Comfort

Your guests are unlikely to arrive with any camping equipment, and so will expect to have all of their needs catered for by you. You will need to provide all of the comforts of a hotel or B&B whilst also providing extra items to help them deal with the great outdoors. Anything that makes the Glamper’s stay easier is a huge benefit. Remember, they’re not campers so may not even think to bring a torch! From comfy chairs to high tog duvets and extra blankets (just incase), you will need to think of everything and provide it for them.

3. Facilities

The facilities you provide for general living must all function as they should and be well thought out.

Think of what’s included in a basic hotel room, transfer that to camping and then add on additional facilities to help your guests deal with being outdoors. Examples include refrigeration for their food, hot water bottles and storage for muddy boots.
