Tested Tips For Washing-Up Facilities at a Glampsite

Washing Up Facilities For a Glampsite

The Facilities at a Glampsite

The required facilities at a glampsite are numerous. Here we take a look at the importance of the washing-up facilities and how to plan ahead. Most of the tips here were acquired as we helped land owners get started in glamping. We saw first hand the problems they faced and how they overcame them.

Planning

Facilities for washing up should be planned alongside the toilets and showers, sharing the same water supply where possible (whether that’s a tank or mains connection). This keeps the task away from the tents and so reduces the risk of damage caused to the canvas by detergents in the washing up liquid.

Glamper’s are happy to share facilities, but they absolutely must function adequately and be simple to use.

Hot Water

Glampers will require hot water to complete this task. Don’t worry if you’re not able to provide hot water on tap, so long as you’ve made provision for this in their equipment, you’ll be forgiven (gas hob, kettle and washing up bowl).

Colour Coding

To avoid mixing utensils and plates with other glamper’s using the site, consider colour coding them per tent.

Colourworks by kitchencraft is a vast range of utensils and cutlery in many different colours, and so helps glampers to quickly identify their own set.

Inevitably, some items get left at the washing up area, and so this helps everyone understand which items belong in which camp. It also helps site owners to identify sets per tent on change-over days, and so to quickly identify any missing items from the inventory.
